QED V2.0 Demo
-------------
What is QED V2.0 and who is this new guy?
For the longest time I have wanted to use the standard ASL file
requesters within QED. Unfortunately the creator of QED, Darren
Greenwald, no longer had the time to devote to QED and so it looked like
I would be out of luck. Well, I pestered Darren mercilessly until he
gave in and let me take over distribution and future development of QED.
After a few weeks of effort I managed to get Darren's original Manx
based code to compile and link under the SAS/C environment I am familiar
with. I then chopped out all the code related to the native QED requester
and the ARP requester, put in code to use the ASL file requester, changed
some of the colors of the various QED requesters around and fixed a couple
of old QED bugs. The result is QED V2.0.
Another update will be available soon with several feature additions
and AmigaGuide documentation.
I am continuing development on QED, first concentrating on getting the
look of the interface uptodate with the Amiga OS. After that, whatever
feature additions make sense for QED.
If you have never used QED before, please read the files in the
Documentation drawer. As a minimum, read the Copyright and Introduction
files as they contain important information about QED and are brief.
This demo version of QED is fully functional except for the limitation
of not being able to save files larger than 10K in size.
Registration:
This release of QED is going out for free to everyone who was previously
a registered user. If you are a previously registered QED user, please
contact me via email or snailmail about getting updates. Those with an
account on Genie already have access to updates but should contact me in
any case so that I can get my records up to date.
New users can get this version by sending $30 to me at the following
address:
Phillip Wright
5362 Leon Street
Oceanside, CA 92057
Updates:
Updates will be provided on GEnie in the QED library for registered
users. Those who don't have access to GEnie can send me $5 to the
address above and I will mail you an update on disk.
I won't be providing free updates via Internet email. I may, at some
point in the future, provide them for a fee depending on demand.
Contacting Me:

NOTE! I will be moving sometime before the middle of the year and so my
physical address is only good until then (approx June 1996) though I will,
of course, put in a forwarding address with the Post Office. My GEnie
email address will still be valid.
